Wound condition:


Presence of exudate is essential for moist wound healing. However, excessive exudates may delay wound healing. Increased level of exudate can adversely lead to problems such as periwound skin damage, maceration and infection.
Further, frequent dressing change, leakage from dressing and malodour can be distressing for patients as well as care providers.
Therefore, effective management of exudate is very important to reduce the healing time and exudate related episodes. To maintain a delicate balance of moist environment for wound healing can be achieved by a suitable dressing.
Wound infection is also a major problem which can result in delayed wound healing and pathogenic conditions associated with pain. Hence, selection of advanced wound care dressing which can prevent and help in managing wound infection for faster and better wound healing is the basic need.
